The Broadcasting Press Guild has issued a call for entries in the Multichannel category of this year’s BPG Awards.
Unlike the other awards, which are chosen by the membership as a whole, the Multichannel Award is selected by a jury of members that specialise in the sector. The Award is designed to highlight the programme that in the opinion of the judges is worthy of a place in the broadcast schedule.
“Over 70% of the UK now has access to digital television, but the Guild believes it is more important than ever to recognise the talent that goes into multichannel television production, sometimes on a fraction of the budget,” said Julian Clover, chairman of the Multichannel Award jury.
Broadcasters are invited to send a DVD of their selected programme and some background information such as transmission date, production company and cast details (if appropriate) to

To qualify the programme must have been commissioned by the channel for transmission on a UK originated channel during 2006. Just one programme per channel, please.
No fee is payable to enter the awards.
The 2007 BPG Awards lunch will be held at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Friday March 23, 2007 and have been graciously sponsored by Turner Networks Europe.
The Broadcasting Press Guild is an association of journalists who specialise in writing and broadcasting about television, radio and the media generally. Its members are drawn from national newspapers and the broadcasting trade press at home and abroad.
